Dartmoor!!! There really is so much to explore and see from beautiful open spaces, to the magnificent granite Tor’s which rewards you with amazing uninterrupted views! If you want to really stretch your legs why not try High Willhays, the highest point in Dartmoor. It stands at over 2000 ft above sea level or neighbouring Yes Tor is not such a challenge but still worth the hike . Both are less than a ten minutes  drive from the cottage. Take a picnic and your swimsuits you can have a refreshing wild swim in Cullever Steps pool! 

I so today you decide you would like to walk through a woodland we have everything here on your doorstep, there is the world famous Tarka Trail which you can access in Sticklepath. Also Abbeyford wood is well worth a visit as beautiful pathways take you through a shaded wood. Picnic tables are available to rest and enjoy another picnic.

You have recovered from walking High Willhays, so let’s go for a bike ride. There are many different cycle paths around the local area however the Granite Way is pretty special. The paths are mostly flat with a good surface. Enjoy the birds singing, watch the ponies, cattle and sheep. Keep looking out for Buzzards the way they glide on the thermals is just magnificent.

Looks like it’s going to be a hot day, let’s go to the beach !!! 35mins and your in Bude with beautiful sandy beaches. I had many hours of fun here as a child with my Mum, Dad and sister. These days make memories, so grab your picnic again, your buckets and spades and just soak it up. Perfect !!! If your looking for thrills this is surfing territory, keep to the north that’s were the waves are. If calmer waters are what your after to paddle board then Exmouth, Exeter /Topsham Quay , Double locks at Exeter (there’s a pub here too). Roadford Lake is 20 mins from the cottage they offer kayaking , paddle boarding, sailing, archery or have a go at the high rope swing!! Pets allowed.

Eden Project wow I just love it, it’s around one hour away but it’s a day trip you need to enjoy the time here. Soak up the Rainforest, Mediterranean and botanical gardens. Pets on leads.

Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre , take lots of pennies with you for the slot machines . This a great place to visit if the weather is not perfect. Go horse riding on the moor what an amazing way to discover Dartmoor. There are a few wild swimming pools around Dartmoor is an amazing feeling swimming surrounded by the moor , Go Ape and Adrenaline quarry are also a short drive away.
